In what will be a new weekly feature series, we’ve teamed up with new 140bpm-focused publication OneFortyDeep to champion some of the best mixes we hear. Follow the 140D guys on Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud and check back next week for their second ‘Mix of the Week‘ here on FatKidOnFire.
As well as trawling the web for up-and-coming producers to showcase and highlight, we also like to keep an eye out for up-and-coming DJs as well.
Copenhagen-based Laura Martini fits the bill perfectly. Relatively unknown, with a small following and to date two solid mixes that, in our opinion, deserve a wider audience.
The one that piqued our interest is ‘Le Délire de Négation Dubstep Mix‘.
It’s a beautifully programmed set, bookended by melodic and ethereal vocal numbers; a well-balanced selection of dark and minimal rollers, ambient and orchestral tracks – with some grime vox for good measure.
The mix is available for streaming and free download on SoundCloud, and is worth an hour of anyone’s time.
