It’s times like this, when I stumble across unbelievable talent, that it makes all the hard work that happens behind the scenes of FKOF worthwhile. There’s something about the creatures of the deep in the video for ‘Bio-Luminescence’ that 110% work with the mixture of genres that feature in the track. It just works!
If you haven’t come across KANEDUBSTEP you need to get in the know. Find him on Youtube, Soundcloud and Facebook. Sam is destined for huge things (including a lot of coverage here at FKOF haha) in 2011. You heard it here first. If you need another example of why KANEDUBSTEP is set for takeover, check his truly terrifying remix of Kelis’ “Milkshake” (1.53 – this is the first dubstep remix I’ve heard that uses this technique and as a side note this track would work well in a Saw movie soundtrack. FKOFing scary).
Continuing the dubstep and musical theme (dutty bass is keeping us warm through this rather unpleasant cold weather), we thought we’d do a little something for you guys. We’ve been championing all things filthy, bass-driven and most importantly underground since we started in March and so we thought it’d be a great idea to get you guys in front of the FKOF decks and to get you to submit your mix of the biggest dubstep tracks from 2010. The best DUB10 mix wins a FKOF tee and stickers.
Please email your submissions to [email protected] before 31/12/2010 to be considered in the contest. I’ll post the top five mixes and will link all of you who enter.
Get mixing and good luck!
Finally, the lovely and extremely talented Danielle over at DAT TAG has just released her new collection. The new collection sees the brand dropping more designs, two polos, a hoody and an awesome military-inspired jacket (amongst others). It’s good to see Danielle doing so well! If you like the new designs (we certainly do) head over to the DAT TAG webstore for more info.
If you have any thoughts on KANEDUBSTEP, the FKOF DUB10 comp or DAT TAG’s new collection, or thoughts on anything else you’ve read let us know either via the comments section below or through one of the other forms of contact (email, Twitter and Facebook).
Peace, love and respect.
