New Music…

New Music…

It’s been a while since our last “New Music…” post but we’re back with a selection of some of the finest music we’ve been listening to over the past few weeks. If you’ve got any music you think we’d dig, be sure to get in touch (emailTwitterFacebook or the FKOF TakesQuestions page)!

We’ve been massive fans of EL-B for almost as long as we can remember. Then we heard “2 for 1” (Romp VIP) featuring the equally mental-and-amazing Wiley and we knew we’d found a new party favourite. Massive tune!

There’s a group of dubstep producers in New Zealand who are pushing the bassweight for the southern hemisphere. Perverse are two of them. There’s obviously something extremely mad going into their water supply – with the speed and amount of seriously fresh tracks they’re putting up on their Soundcloud. Get to know these guys, you’ll be hearing a lot more from them.

‘How It Is’ is an unsurprisingly huge track from one of London’s best dubstep and grime producers, Core. Get this on the stereo and get the subs turned up!

We featured District a while back on one of our MakeItGood x FKOF features. Sleeper and District often produce together (slight tenuous link) but not on ‘Untitled Dub 12’. We think you’ll agree that Sleeper tore this track a new one. We can’t wait for the full release!

More amazing dungeon sounds from New Zealand. This time it’s from Ghost Note – who is up there with Perverse with the rest of our new favourite producers. Serious production skills from our Kiwi brother!

We’ve got a lot of time for Funtcase and his special brand of filth. When we discovered he was producing under a new moniker, Haze, as a side project we were even more impressed. ‘Maestro’ is an awesome track with a superb rolling bassline that we’re stoked to see has been signed to Hatcha’s Sin City label for a release. Stoked!

We’ve been following Proximas for a while now – and when we caught this superb remix of Ashleigh Ashley‘s take on the recent London Riots we loved it. Another great track!

Another huge Lurka track. Nothing else really needs to be said. This man has bassweight locked.

No introduction necessary for this one. We’ve got more than enough love for the Fused Forces lads and ‘Taken’ cements that. Massive track, with an awesome sample from one our favourite films. ‘Nuff said!

How about some hardcore? It’s been a long while since we last blown away by a decent hardcore band from these shores – but Continents have gone and changed that with their debut single ‘Trials’. If you’re feeling it, support these guys by parting ways with just 79p and purchasing the single via iTunes.
