We’ve (hopefully) got a few new posts lined up for tonight. There’s the ‘Out and About…’ update below and a ‘New Music…’ post lined up for later on. We’ve also got loads of new MakeItGood features lined up for the next few weeks as well as a few interviews with streetwear brands. Stay locked as always!
First up, we’ve got to give a cheeky mention to our friends over at Unequal Balance. Louis and the crew have been working like mad behind the scenes over the past few months and have recently released a drop of four awesome new designs. Peep them all in the awesome gif above, and head over to the UN= blog to see the full range.
Carrying off where the UN= bandwagon left off, we thought with summer approaching it was time to unleash some more of our trademark, clean, bold off the wall illustrated graphics to the world. As always these are designs are straight off the top of our domes and are done in short runs, so don’t sleep…
If you like what you see, don’t forget to hit up the UN= store to get your cop on. Lovely stuff!
Next up, even though we’ve been a bit slow with this one, is an awesome competition/ event that’s going on with Don’t Panic and Channel 4. This competition comes with a pretty damn awesome prize; with the winners getting to “have their design used as an advertisement for Channel 4’s Street Summer schedule of programming, as well as having their design printed on postcards and the Don’t Panic Poster to be distributed around the UK”. Pretty awesome huh? PR below and to find out what you have to do to enter, visit the Don’t Panic x C4 Street Summer web page – but don’t sleep, the competition ends this Saturday!
The focus of the competition is to find new talent to help promote Street Summer across the UK in the only way which makes sense; using the competition winners’ designs as massive outdoor advertisements.
The winning entries need to represent one of the five elements of street culture which the Street Summer season is featuring: street dance, urban sports, spoken word, hip hop and street art.
Entrants will represent their region and the winning piece for each region will appear in a major city from their part of the UK.
The 7 competition regions are:
- South East
- South West
- Midlands and East
– Winning entrants will be paid £300 for the use of their artwork
– Winners will have their design displayed on a premium outdoor space for two weeks (04th August to 18th August)
– Winners will get the opportunity to work with an established street artist from their region of the UK
– Winners’ work will feature on the Don’t Panic Poster and on postcards which will be distributed across the UK in Don’t Panic Packs
– Winners will be featured in a short film about their work.
Next up is the latest event from our boy DrX and the LDN DC crew. Although this is way off in August at one of our favourite London venues (Whitechapel’s Rhythm Factory), we thought it was worth raising this with you guys early so you can get it in the diary – it promises to be a good ‘un. With another totally mental lineup, you (and we) would be mad to miss it. Peep all the details on the flyer above and go click attending on the FB event page, which you can find here. If you’re really keen, cop your advance tickets from RA. Make sure you reach this one and we’ll see you on the dancefloor!
LDN DC have set up shop at The Rhythm Factory for a special summer party, bringing with them a stellar line up spanning the spectrum of contemporary bass music: Ikonika, Jon Convex, Optimum and Hardhouse Banton.
Last, but by no means least; FatKidOnFire, MakeItGood, DBD and Wobblesquad are pleased to announce that we’ve all made plans to have a BBQ, get wasted and get our skank on to some sick bass – and the good part is you’re invited. The even better part is it’s free. We’re nice like that! Get yourselves down to ‘The Star of Kings‘ from 3pm next Friday (22nd) to enjoy a BBQ and a Funktion 1 soundsystem and be there for 6pm, when the party properly kicks off. Find all the info on the massively long flyer above or the FB event page. Gonna get rambo!
After the success of their last party together in Shoreditch before Christmas, DBD Clothing, MakeItGood, FatKidOnFire and Wobble Squad are stoked to announce their next event.
The crew bring you a free BBQ rave in a warehouse style venue ‘The Star Of Kings’ near King’s Cross on Friday July 22nd. Come down early music start at 6pm with all star underground line up!
Funktion 1 Soundsystem / Fully Licensed Bars / BBQ Start From 3pm (Depending On Weather) / 5 Mins Walk From Kingcross Station Zone 1 / Bass Heavy Music / Cheap Booze
Peace, love and respect.
